STEPS:

1. Begin by hard boiling eggs if not using plastic. If eggs are boiled or refrigerated, allow them to reach room temperature and wipe away any moisture.

2. Tear strips of old newsprint into a manageable size in relation to the egg. Tear roughly 2 large strips per egg.

3. In a medium size plastic bowl, mix water and Elmer’s glue to reach a milky consistency. Dip paper strips into the mixture and saturate just until the paper is pliable.

4. Using your hands, form the paper onto the egg while applying with gently pressure. Repeat this process until the entirety of the surface is covered. Make more of the glue mixture as needed. Once covered, place the egg on a wire rack to dry.

5. After completely dried, cut small strips of lace and adhere to the egg using a hot glue gun. Layer buttons, brooches, or timepieces onto the lace using the glue gun. Allow hot glue to dry. Arrange eggs in a basket or scattered along the center of the table for an instant attention grabber.
